is a good one for how to work the steps and has a wonderful collection
of pictures of the founders of A.A. Again this site is not directly
affiliated with A.A. but it definitely bears looking at.
There are meetings for Pagans
and those of alternative spiritual paths to discuss issues of Recovery
and how to use the 12 Steps from a Pagan perspective.
The White Bison
site is a sobriety site from the American Aboriginal Peoples point of
view, called Wellbriety. They have a chat room called The Talking
Circle. The Talking Circle is Sacred This means that you respect the
other person's opinion, for this is where they are in the current
moment of their growth. This is not a general chat room, rather it has
some serious rules and you are strongly urged to read their
tutorial before entering. The daily meditation page called the Elder's Meditation
of the Day contains words to live any life by.

Dual
Recovery Anonymous™ is an independent, nonprofessional, twelve
step, self-help fellowship organization for people with a dual
diagnosis. Our goal is to help men and women who experience a dual
illness. We are chemically dependent and we are also affected by an
emotional or psychiatric illness. Both illnesses affect us in all areas
of our lives; physically, psychologically, socially, and spiritually.
For those in recovery from

Hazelden
is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people recover from
alcoholism and other drug addiction, providing residential and
outpatient treatment for adults and young people, programs for families
affected by chemical dependency, and training for a variety of
professionals. They also provide a sober thought for the day,
"e-mailed" right to your desk each morning, it makes a good way to
start each day. They also offer on line chats for those who
can't get to meetings or as an adjunct to meetings.
The
Self Harm Alliance is a national survivor led voluntary group
which supports people affected by self-harm.
The Substance Abuse and Mental
Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA)
National Mental Health Information Center provides information about
mental health
